MY MORNING ROUTINE
Jag har fått ihop en morgonrutin åt mig själv som verkligen fungerar helt otroligt bra. Detta är definitivt något som jag aldrig trodde att skulle hända. Att jag skulle bli en sådan person som har en morgonrutin. Det känns helt otroligt att jag nuförtiden är en sådan person. Det bevisar bara att saker och ting ändras. Speciellt när man själv bestämmer sig för att ändra på saker och ting.
I have gotten a morning routine that really works for me. That is something that I never thought would happen. That I would become a person with a morning routine. It just tells you that things do change- Especially when you decide to take action and change things.
But as I said I have managed to fix one that works and I thought I would share it since some of you might get inspired. It will probably still live a bit, since it is not put in stone, but this is what it has looked like for a while now. A few things do change if I have work very early, but I do mention that too. I recommend taking a cup of tea or something because this is gonna be a long one.
När jag stänger av väckarklockan lämnar jag telefonen där den är utan att titta på den desto mera. Den får ligga.
I start my morning by getting up the second the alarm goes off. I have it in the other room so I really have to get up and get away from the bed to turn it off. You who have a problem with the snooze-button do try this. I was the one that always had to sleep just a little bit more every morning after the alarm but I am no longer that person.
When I turn off the alarm I let my phone be. I don’t look at it at all. It stays where it is.
I go to the bathroom and start washing my face and brushing my teeth. I have written a post about the products I used in my daily routine a while back så go read that. The products have changed a bit since then but the idea is the same. I am really proud of myself for being able to keep this up for so long. Every morning and night which is amazing. I have been so bad at it my whole life. It has always just been so easy to just skip it when too tired of just forget it. But not anymore. I don’t skip.
After that, I go and put the kettle on to get warm water for my tea. While it is doing its thing I go to the kitchen table and take my Bullet Journal that I did mention in my a post not long ago. I start writing what people call morning pages. It is like writing in a journal and I just write everything that I feel like writing. It is really a really nice way to start the day.
When the water is warm I go and make tea. In the mornings it is usually Herbalifes tea that I put some aloe in. In the move, we realized that we have a lot of tea so if I get tea in the evening it is usually another brand.
I take my tea to the table and either continue writing the page or update my habit tracker. When I have done that I usually grab my phone. At that point, it has usually been about a half an hour. I will probably at some point try to make it 45 minutes or an hour but we shall see how that goes. I do recommend trying to start the day without the phone being the first thing you look at. A half an hour is not a long time. And no one needs you that bad in the morning.
If I am going to work I take my breakfast with me in a shaker and drink it on the way. It is easiest that way and I know I will make it to lunchtime. Before I go I do also make sure W gets up from the bed so that he doesn’t sleep until noon.
But if I am not going to work I take my laptop and watch something or write on a post a while before I go wake up W. Yes, I do let him sleep a bit longer when I am at home. I poke him a bit so that he wakes up and then go make breakfast for the both of us. I make it in the Nutribullet so it takes pretty much the same amount of time to do for one or two. So I don’t mind that I am the one making it. I have also written a post about what my breakfast is so if you wanna know more then go read it. I pour it into glasses for us and it is just a few minutes thing. Easy to do at home or take with you. I love it. And it gives your body all it needs to wake up.
Ungefär såhär börjar alla mina dagar, med såklart små ändringar beroende på, men ungefär såhär är det alltid. Jag har några saker som jag funderar på att ännu ta med i den här mixen och en är promenad. Det skulle nog vara på morgonar då jag inte har jobb att gå till. Jag har ju Tölöviken helt här bredvid så den skulle vara en ganska så bra runda att ta. En annan grej som jag funderar på är meditation. Ta några minuter och bara vara på morgonen. Det här kom jag på när Jennifer skrev om det i sin blogg och tipsade om några apps som hjälper till på vägen. Tror att jag skall ta och prova det i något skede och se om det skulle vara något för mig.
Dessutom tror jag att jag plockar in läsande också och motivation klipp från youtube också i något skede. De kan hända att de blir såna att jag gör dem ibland, men inte varje dag. Men jag skall se hur det blir. Åtminstone läsandet är jag väldigt sugen på att börja igen så mornar skulle kunna vara tiden för det.
This is pretty much how my morning looks, with of course some small changes but yeah you know. I have a few things I am thinking about adding to this mix and one is a walk. It would be something I would do on days when I don’t have work to go to. I do have Töölönlahti pretty close so it would be a perfect route to take. One other thing I have been thinking about is meditation. To take a few minutes to just be in the morning. This is something that Jennifer talked about in her blog and gave a few apps to try. I think I will have to give it a try and see if it would be something for me.
I also think that I will start reading in the morning too and listen to motivational clips on youtube at some point. These might become things that I don’t do every day. But I shall think about it. I do really want to start reading again so mornings could be the time for that.
